Julien Lallevé released a new version of his monkey game called bam?. Here is a list of the improvements, copied from his website:
- You can now die four times before you lose all your objects (bananas and coins)
- The number of monkey heads displayed on the screen shows how much lives you still have
- The B button is now used to change the activated colors instead of L, it makes it easier to play
- Jump frame ! It proves that MonkeyMonkey can ALSO be happy (… euphoric).
- Some coding stuff you’ll never know about, and don’t even care. But it makes me happy to say it.

I found another HAM/HEL based game in the news on gbadev.org today. The game is called Spikeball and looks like a pong game.

The console-dev.de team wishes you a happy new year!
2006 was quite successful for HEL Library. It became very popular in the HAM community, almost every new HAM project now also uses HEL Library!
Beside the homebrew projects, I’m also very happy about the fact that HEL Library found its way into several commercial Game Boy Advance titles as well. It’s a pleasure for me to see HAM/HEL projects poping up. Keep them coming in 2007!
