VsTortoise - TortoiseSVN integration for Visual Studio

svn visual studio

VsTortoise is an add-in for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005-2013, that provides an interface to perform the most common revision control operations directly from inside the Visual Studio IDE. It uses TortoiseSVN to execute the Subversion commands and supports TortoiseSVN 1.6, 1.7 and 1.8.

I created VsTortoise in 2009, because I was tired of switching back and forth between Visual Studio and Windows Explorer just to commit code changes, blaming a file or find modifications in my code.

I didn’t plan to release VsTortoise on the internet at this time, but when I started using the add-in at work, my colleagues got excited and soon started to use it too. Feature suggestions and bug-reports came in now and then and the plugin developed to be more useful every day. This was when I realised VsTortoise could be useful to other developers too, so I released it on this website.

In January 2010, I decided to make it an open-source project.

Notes
